Opus Creator

Geared toward seasoned users, Opus Creator is a feature-rich utility loaded with advanced tools and configuration settings for developing and publishing multimedia publications.

You can start a new publication from scratch or from templates for Opus Creator, HTML 5, Opus Flex (Adobe Flash for .swf animations, movies and websites) or Opus Video Creator (non-interactive video clips with formats such as .mpg or .avi).

The application has some predefined page styles and content to help you rapidly build key pages: interactive publications with menus, presentations with rich media and intro pages, general page templates, or custom project (no preset styles or materials).

Several drawing tools are available for the design, including selection, resize scale mode, image crop, zoom, single or multiple frames, add text, tween, text input box, button, image, straight or curved lines, freehand, and hotspot.

The properties of each object can be edited. For example, you can select mouse, synchronization, drag and drop or advanced triggers, establish audio/video, animation, text, slideshow or bookmark actions, write programming code, or set a quick animation, like fade, flip, spin or zoom.

Opus Creator is equipped with a few explorers for objects, actions, pages, page templates, and components (e.g. scratch pad, flags and maps). It's possible to duplicate objects, edit publication properties, manage layers, insert timelines and comments, record the publication, consolidate all resources into a subdirectory, check and remove any unused resources, or modify data paths.

Other functions include search and replace, a spellchecker, font and master page replacer, image, sound, Midi and video editors, along with resource and web font managers, among others. These are just part of the features provided by Opus Creator.

We haven't encountered any unpleasant surprises in our tests as far as stability is concerned, thanks to the fact that the application didn't freeze, crash or display error messages. Surprisingly, it had low impact on computer performance.

To sum it up, Opus Creator provides experienced users with powerful and advanced options and customization preferences for designing and publishing multipurpose multimedia publications.
