SMAP description
A handy Stock Market Analyzer and Predictor application
Stock Market Analyzer-Predictor SMAP is a computer program able not only to extract basic cycles but also to predict stock market and find an optimal timing to buy or sell stocks.
SMAP is an advanced software tool that helps investors to analyze stock market and determine optimal investing timing. SMAP comes with a simple and user-friendly interface that is also very easy to use. To use this software it is recommended to have a basic knowledge in investing.
Stock Market Analyzer-Predictor (SMAP) is designed to analyze overall stock market (equivalent index) or sectors (indexes), reveal cycles, build forecast, and find optimal timing to buy and sell stocks (month of year, day of month, and day of week).
Used Approaches
SMAP calculation mainly based on extracting basic cyclical functions with different periods, amplitudes, and phases from historical quote curve.
Historical price data are transformed from time domain
to frequency domain (spectrum). By selecting data with different historical periods, user can identify the major cycles, which have a dominant effect in a particular time frame.
To build an extrapolation (forecasted curve), SMAP-2 uses the following two-step approach:
· applying spectral (time series) analysis to decompose the curve into basic functions,
· composing these functions beyond the historical data.
Finding optimal timing to buy/sell (month of year, day of month, and day of week) is based on statistical analysis.
Here are some key features of "SMAP":
· Any index as an equivalent of the overall stock market, sector, or industry can be used to find an optimal timing
· SMAP-2 forecasts performance for 1/3 of historical period. For example, if the period of historical quote data entered as input is equal 18 years, prediction will be calculated for the next 6 years.
· Annual returns are calculated on a decompounded basis, i.e., for example, 20% displayed annual return means 44% total for two-year period
· SMAP-2 is packaged with an initial set of data for ^GSPC, ^TYX, ^IXBK, and ^XAU
· Historical quote data files are downloaded from publicly available data source for free
· The historical quote data period can be selected by users from one year to more than 40 years
