Athan (Azan) Basic
IslamicFinder Athan (Azan) Basic is an easy to use application that can remind you of your prayer times and find the Qiblah direction. Especially designed for Muslims who are far away from their country, this program can calculate and display the prayer times for six million cities from all over the world.
At the first run, you are prompted to choose your exact location (country and city), which is the main condition for the program to work properly. The geographical coordinates are automatically detected and you can enable or disable daylight saving.
The main interface is rather crowded, comprising the time and date, the prayer times for the current day, the location and the calculation method. However, once you have set the location, you can switch to compact view, which enables you to view only the prayer times and the 'Select Athan' pane.
The software can be used for ringing the Athan, which is the traditional call-to-prayer. It runs hidden in the system tray and when the clock reaches one of the five prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib or Isha), it automatically plays the notification sound (here, you can select one of the following sounds: Makkah, Madina, Al – Aqsa, Egypt or no Athan).
As for the prayer calculation methods, you have several options to choose from: Muslim World League, Egyptian General Authority of Survey, University of Islamic Sciences, Umm Al-Qura, North America or Twilight Angle). Furthermore, you are able to choose how exact the clock should be by adjusting the minutes for every prayer time.
The application comes with additional tools, such as the Hijri-Gregorian date converter, the Athan text viewer, a Quran recitation tool or the special Islamic days viewer.
Providing multilingual support, IslamicFinder Athan (Azan) Basic is a handy tool that can help Muslims automatically hear the traditional Athan at exact times no matter their location.
