While most photographs are now taken in digital formats, it doesn’t mean that you should quit looking at your pictures as you would if they were printed. Bix’s Photo Book provides a 3D animated photo browser with real-time shadows and dynamic lighting.
The app has a simple interface and a clean layout, making it easy to figure out.
You may define the directory where the program should take the pictures from or choose the files manually. There are two images displayed on each page and the album appears to be on a wooden surface.
It’s possible to adjust several features, such as the paper color and texture, as well as to set transparent paper texture. Alternatively, you may use a “shiny paper” to give the album a glossy feel. The same can be done regarding the album’s cover.
The photographs can be set as Shiny or their hues can be lightened. Shadows may be rendered as well. The animation speed can be adjusted quite easily.
Some lighting settings are available as well. The light can come from the left, right, top or front, depending on the selected option. The photo book can be exported as a movie file that can be used in DVD productions, computer presentations, podcasts and websites.
All in all, Bix’s Photo Book is a nice tool that can be fun to work with. Less experienced individuals should find it easy to handle, thanks to the intuitive layout and its overall simplicity.
