There’s not much to brag about the user interface as everything is kept as simple and clear as possible. All the program’s dedicated parameters are embedded in the primary panel, so you can easily tweak them.
Crosswords gives you the possibility to build up a crossword by uploading the information from a plain text file format. Additionally, you are allowed to choose between a crossword or half crossword.
When it comes to exporting options, you can save the newly created crossword to PDF file format. The lack of configurable settings makes it an ideal tool especially for rookies who don’t want to spend too much time configuring the dedicated parameters.
However, more experienced users may find it pretty inconvenient to work with an app that doesn’t come packed with advanced features. You are not allowed to manually enter the desired words and specify the minimum and maximum number of words that are included in the crossword, just to name a few suggestions.
During our testing we have noticed that Crosswords carries out a task quickly and without errors. It leaves a minimal footprint on system resources, so the overall performance of the computer is not burdened.
To sum things up, Crosswords proves to be a simplistic piece of software that comes bundled with limited features for helping you generate crosswords by uploading words from a plain text file.
