Straightforward and colorful interface
The installation process does not take very long and it does not offer to add new products that are not actually necessary for the program to properly work. When you are done with it, you come face to face with a colorful and simple UI, so that it can be used with great ease by all children. In fact, it is dedicated to kids that are 2 years old and more.
It is important to keep in mind that this software utility packs two versions, namely one for the children and the other for parents or teachers. The first one enables kids to learn how to use the keyboard and mouse through games, learn about the Brail system, the concept of gravity and acceleration, countries and continents. It is also possible to learn mathematics, complete a few puzzles, access some reading activities and play one of the supported strategy games.
Configuring options, generating reports
The administrator counterpart enables you to add classes, groups and profiles, enable or disable specified activates and games, as well as generate and view reports, so that you can track the progress of all users.
Comprehensive Help contents are supported, so that anybody can learn how to use the app at its full potential. Furthermore, the CPU and memory usage is minimal, which means that the computer’s performance is not going to be affected in any way.
To wrap it up, GCompris is an efficient piece of software and a good choice for parents or teachers that are interested in helping children improve their knowledge through fun activities and games. The response time is good, the interface is friendly and there are sufficient options to keep children busy for quite a while.
