Designed as a plug-in for Adobe InDesign, MathMagic Pro Edition offers the possibility to both edit and create mathematical equations in an InDesign file. The tool can be used on its own and all the data can then be sent to Adobe’s product in a seamless fashion.

As such, the tool is added to the system through a regular installation process. The operation does not take long to complete and there are no promotions to third-party software.

The developer warns, however, that in some cases the application may fail to run; the solution is to download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable package. If the issue still persists check with the documentation of the product for additional answers.

The layout may not be impressive but it offers an intuitive organization of the elements available. The developer’s claims are that the product can help create any mathematical expression, which can be employed with other programs such as word processors, image editing solutions or DTP layout alternatives.

One advantage MathMagic Pro Edition brings to the table is the capability to recognize the baseline of equations on the spot, thus matching it with the text line.

The product integrates options that should boost the productivity of power users at the same time offering the less experienced ones the possibility to reach a more proficient level.

MathMagic Pro Edition is not difficult to work with if you know what the application is designed for. The interface may look a bit austere but the flexibility, rich list of features and the versatility of the program more than compensate for the stern layout.

It also brings to the table a high number of templates and symbols used in physics, electronics and accounting.
