Vocabulary .NET

When learning a new language, practicing is of the utmost importance, and Vocabulary .NET is one of the apps that can help you in this respect.

This utility is a portable one, so you can just carry it on your removable USB thumb drive and run it whenever you come across a computer and you want to work on your vocabulary, be it native or foreign.

Although it allows you to enter the source and the target languages, you can also leave the same one in both fields, as this allows you to simply enrich your vocabulary with new words or understand old ones better.

Multiple destination languages are supported, whereas the list of source ones is shorter: English, German, Japanese and Spanish. You can easily modify your choice even after you start enjoying the functions of the app.

By default, Vocabulary .NET launches in Read mode, showing you the translation for various words from the selected source language. You can either use the sample database or you can build a new one from scratch, by adding individual words according to your necessities (you can later export the database to XML, CSV or TSV).

You can go one step further and switch to Practice mode where you need to type the words read out loud to you. If you make a mistake, you get the chance to fix it and type the correct version within a few seconds.

The integrated tests, Choice and Typing, can be evaluated and are typically included only in the commercial licenses.

Vocabulary .NET is a seemingly simple utility for helping you exercise your newly acquired skills in a new language. You can practice both your reading and your typing skills, and you can change the involved languages at any time, without any hassle.
