Zodiacal Releasing description
Zodiacal Releasing calculates the dates of onset for each of the zodiacal periods
Zodiacal Aphesis is an application based on the time lord method of zodiacal aphesis described in Vettius Valens Anthology written 160 C.E. Zodiacal aphesis (or releasing) was originally used by hellenistic astrologers to judge the quality and activity of the times for the greek lots / arabic parts of fortune and spirit.
This program calculates the dates of onset for each of the zodiacal periods and up to four sub-period divisions.
Zodiacal Aphesis is an ancient astrological technique that was used by Vettius Valens circa 150 -170 C.E. to find the important times in an individuals life for matters regarding what astrologers call the parts of fortune and spirit (in books 2 - 4 published by Project Hindsight).
This program allows experimentation with other subjects as well (represented by the other
"arabic parts" - more appropriately called "greek lots"). A user with advanced knowledge of astrology will be able see the quality of the times for the subject.
Help files in the application and online are available to bring you up to speed on the basics. It gives the dates for the zodiacal releasing down through 4 subdivisions of the times, which would take several hours if done by hand. Up to 200 major periods are allowed covering a span of about 3500 years (for research in mundane astrology). Three types of aphesis are available to account for all possible interpretations of the method, including Valens use of 27/yrs - months for Capricorn and the use of the 360 day Egyptian year.
Major and sub periods are displayed in the listbox on the right after entering the date from which to begin the releasing, the number of major periods to calculate and the starting sign (which presumably contains one of the greek lots, aka - arabic parts). The 3rd and 4th level sub periods are then found by double clicking the sub period displayed in the listbox from which you want more information, the results of which are displayed in a second popup window.
Options include different displays for the dates in European, American and Scientific formats, long and short sign names, different types of loosing of the bond for the major periods, with printing and font selection capabilities via popup or main menu. Added ability to save all visible settings to an options file as well as general file saving and opening capabilities for individual birth data. Automatically restores default settings upon startup.
