DeadPix is a simple and easy to understand piece of software which aims to assist you in determining if your computer screen features stuck pixels, enabling you to pinpoint their precise location and attempt to fix them.
Following the installation process, you can launch the application and get started with it right away, its usage being sufficiently straightforward to allow even inexperienced individuals to use it successfully with from the first run.
The main window of DeadPix allows you to access and configure its functioning parameters, for instance the color to be flashed on the screen, with just a few swift moves of your mouse.
Aside from the ‘Red’, ‘Green’, ‘Blue’, ‘Black’ or ‘Random’ flashing colors that you can use for determining the position of a dead pixel, you can also work with a ‘Custom’ value, which you can select from an integrated color picker.
You can increase or decrease the changing ‘Interval’ via a dedicated glider, the ‘-’ sign indicating less time between each new color, while the ‘+’ sign provides the opposite function.
You can then click on ‘Start’ and DeadPix will flash the selected color on your screen, so you can narrow down the location of the stuck pixel. Subsequently, you can attempt to repair it using the ‘Pixel Fixer’.
This component will prompt you to manually define the targeted area on your screen and proceed to continuously flashing various colors in that region. The recommended duration for this task is of at least ten minutes, but you are warned that the success of the operation is not guaranteed.
Overall, DeadPix proves to be a practical program that you can resort to for locating and trying to fix stuck pixels on your screen by flashing random colors for a lengthier period of time; however, you should not expect miracles.
