How many times have you downloaded a program but didn't know how to use it because the Readme file was NFO and you couldn't open it?
Well, you probably settled for Notepad in the end, which is not very practical.
NFO Viewer is a tiny freeware that allows you to read NFO files. It doesn't require any installation, and it has limited but suffice features.
How does it work? Just open the browser and search for the respective NFO file (it will instantly load). Unfortunately, there is no drag and drop feature.
Alternatively, you can right click the NFO file itself and choose to associate it with NFO Viewer.
If there are any links in the document, NFO viewer will highlight and make them clickable.
In the options menu you can set up the font and background color of the text, while the Navigator will bring a new window to the right where you can click on links of various similar tools.
There is one annoying thing going on here. If you edit the document, then you can save it. If you click “save” and there are no new changes to record, then NFO Viewer will open a link in the default browser to a page with the product description... every time.
All in all, NFO Viewer is a small, free application that uses minimum memory resources, and anyone should have it installed on their operating system. Game players and web developers will get a kick out of this small application.
