Oh, dear childhood… Remember the times when we were kids and computers barely existed, so the only video games where those pixelated Nintendo 64 titles?

Well, if you really wish to relive these memories, you can easily do it using Project64, a great Windows application specifically created to emulate Nintendo64 ROMs stored on the hard-disk.

Although the application isn’t exactly new, it still works great. A very simple and fast installer process, simple interface but excellent functionality.

All you have to do is to install the application and then search the web for some downloadable ROMs that will surely give you goosebumps.

The application allows you to configure the controls, the graphic and the audio options and can even emulate a game in full screen.

Of course, during our testing we’ve tried two of the titles that helped us be crowned kings of the neighborhood: Super Mario 3D and Mega Man. Oh boy, those were the times…

Leaving the nostalgic tone aside, Project64 is indeed a great software solution. It works amazingly fast, it comes with a basic yet very efficient interface and, even more importantly, it’s free. You won’t need a super computer in order to run it, so just give it a try and remember to take a break.
