The Wowhead Client was designed to keep your World of Warcraft database up to date.

It serves two purposes:
· It installs and maintains an addon called the Wowhead Looter, which collects data as you play regarding items, npcs, quests, droprates, locations, and lots of other things.
· It uploads the collected data to the Wowhead website so it can keep our information up to date!

You don't need to run it every time you play the game -- just when you want to upload your collected data to the server.
