Kaspersky Updater is a program designed to download and manually save updates and modules of the Kaspersky Lab’s software into a separate directory.
With the help of the utility you can download updates for any Kaspersky Lab’s applications installed either in the corporate network or at home. Once downloaded the updates and/or autopatches can be saved onto a flash-carrier, in a local folder or network folder connected as a disc to the computer file system.
The update utility runs under Microsoft Windows operating systems and until recently could only be configured and launched through the command prompt (the necessary information is provided in the articles).
To simplify the utility management a GUI has been developed for the update utility. To manage the utility through the GUI run the file KasperskyUpdater.exe.
Command prompt usage:
updater.exe {-u|-r|-h} [-o ] [-c] [-tf ] [-rpt ] [-m ][-s]
-u -> perform update
-c -> keep system work folder (otherwise will work in this executable's storage folder)
-o -> set configuration file name ('ss_strorage.ini' by default)
-tf -> trace to specific file
-rpt -> write report to specific file
-disableDumpWrite -> don't write process dump on crash
-s -> suppress error dialog on crash
-h -> print help
Example:
updater.exe -u -o ss_storage.ini -tf IUpdater.log -rpt report.txt -c
