Base Converter 1.0
Since installation is not required, you can drop the executable file in any location on the hard disk and just click it to launch the program.
There is also the alternative to save Base Converter to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit to always have it with you when you're on the go, and run it on any PC that you have access to.
An aspect worth taking into account is that the program does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, so it does not leave anything behind once it is removed.
Clear-cut interface and options
The interface is represented by a small window with a straightforward look, where the "what you see is what you get" principle clearly applies, since there are no other options available apart from what's visible.
All you have to do is enter either decimal, hexadecimal or binary code, and view its translation in real time. Although Base Converter does not implement buttons for copying information to the Clipboard, printing it or exporting it to file, it is possible to copy text selections to the Clipboard via the global hotkey or context menu.
Evaluation and conclusion
As expected, the software program has minimal impact on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. There were no kind of issues in our tests, since it did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Although it is not feature-rich, Base Converter gets the job done and can be used by anyone with ease. No recent updates have been made either.
