Unit Conversions 2000

Unit Conversions 2000 is one of the many ways to quickly convert units from one system to another.

And because such a task requires in essence just basic computer knowledge, Unit Conversions 2000 was designed to be easy to use, which means that the tabbed GUI should come in very handy.

In plain English, every single unit has its very own tab, so you get length, weight, volume, area, density, power and scale.

Each tab comprises multiple measurement systems, so for length for instance we have millimeters, centimeters, ells, feet, inches and paces.

A good thing about this app is that conversions are performed as you type, so you don’t have to press a separate button to convert the defined value. There’s a tiny button next to the results field that lets you instantly copy the displayed value to clipboard.

There are only a few settings to play with, including dedicated options to keep the main window always on top, save window size and location, play shutter sound when copying and use warning sounds with dialog boxes.

One annoying problem is that the main window of the app cannot be minimized, so you have no other choice than to keep it on top or below all the other windows.

But overall, Unit Conversions 2000 serves its purpose, although it’s fairly obvious that further improvements are still needed. For instance, more units are needed, and so are customization options and interface updates.
