Portable Slimjet

Portable Slimjet is a Chromium-based browser that aims to provide the perfect mix between efficiency, portability, and functionality. The result is indeed encouraging, and I felt I would like to keep this particular program in my portable toolkit for situations where my main browser was not helping me as I expected it to.

The idea with browsers in general is they pack many features, but it becomes increasingly difficult for them to organize all these functions in an accessible hub-like system. Well, in this case, I'd say we're pretty close to the perfect mix. Tabs, menus, and submenus are accurately labeled and will help users intuitively discover what they seek.

The interface is pretty basic, but this should be good news for most users, and even more so for those with weaker computer setups. Ultimately, this browser includes features like an image resizer and a pretty well-built downloader too.

This program manages to take what is good in most browsing experiences and add a few extras that end up matter.

Right, so I was surprised to see that sidebars and favorites were included with a browser that seems to have used them way before these were even a thing.

I also noticed that downloads were easier to track as well, and that various privacy options were included for those of us who prefer to make sure that entering the vast online realm does not include any negative effects.

Portable Slimjet is a great browser to take into consideration, and even more so when factoring in the portability perk, which makes a difference when changing computers quite often. Do keep in mind that this does not mean you won't be able to save your settings, just that you won't have to worry about leftovers once you decide to change machines.
