Portable KVIrc

Designed as the portable edition of KVIrc, this is an IRC client based on the Qt GUI toolkit, which gives you the possibility to chat with people from all over the world.

Since there is no installation involved, you can drop the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to launch KVIrc. An alternative is to save it to a USB flash drive or other removable storage unit, in order to run it on any PC effortlessly.

Worth mentioning is that, unlike most installers, it does not modify Windows registry settings, so it does not increase the risk of OS stability issues.

At statup you have to connect to a server by browsing a list. You can also create a new network and fill out details such as user name and password, nickname, encoding mode for the server and text, channels to join, along with actions to perform on connection and login.

It is possible to log data to file to further examine it, change aliases, put together events, as well as to test and execute scripts. Considering the complexity of its options, KVIrc should be handled by users with experience in scripting languages.

Moreover, you can view a graph with the incoming and outgoing traffic to monitor sent and received network packets, create and manage a URL list, take screenshots, load themes and add-ons, and so on.

Surprisingly, the tool uses low CPU and RAM, so it shouldn't put a strain on computer performance. It executed commands swiftly and worked smoothly in our tests, without freezing, crashing or popping up error messages.

KVIrc comes loaded with numerous useful features and customization preferences for connecting to IRC channels, and it is mainly geared toward advanced users.
