X-WinFF

X-WinFF represents the cross-platform graphical user interface for FFMeg, and aids you in converting several movies at a time, from one format to another.

This is also the portable version of WinFF, which means the installation process can be bypassed. As a consequence, the Windows registry and Start menu/screen is not going to suffer any changes and no leftovers will remain after its removal.

Another aspect worth mentioning is that by placing the program files to a removable storage device (e.g. USB flash drive), you make it possible to run X-WinFF on any computer you are granted access to.

This software utility supports quite a wide range of formats at import, namely AVI, MPEG, MOV, MKV, MP3, OGG and WEBM, while export is possible using one of the built-in presets. They are tailored for certain devices, such as Blackberry, iPod, Nokia, PS3 and PSP.

Aside from that, you can access some additional options, which enable you to rotate or crop the picture, add deinterlace, change the bit rate, frame rate and aspect ratio, as well as the audio channels, sample rate and volume.

After choosing all these configuration, all you have to do is click the “Convert” button and let the program do the rest. This process does not require many system resources and thus, does not burden your PC’s performance.

X-WinFF proves to a useful piece of software when it comes to converting video files to other formats suitable for your smartphone or other device. It has a good response time, a user-friendly interface and our tests did not reveal any errors or crashes.
