This is the portable version of iPhotoDraw, a graphics editing application that comes packed with standard options such as text captions, image adjustments and effects. Users do not necessarily need previous experience in order to work with the app.
Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run.
There is also the possibility to save iPhotoDraw to a USB flash disk or other mass storage device, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort, as long as it has .NET Framework installed.
What's more, the tool does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving the disk clean after its removal.
Familiar and user-friendly interface
The GUI is made from a normal window with a comfortable aspect, where you can open a picture using either the file browser or drag-and-drop support.
Basic image editing options
It is possible to zoom in and out, add text, lines and polygons, rectangular callouts, linear dimensions, and other images, to name but a few. Pictures can be exported to JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP or GIF format, sent via FTP, as well as printed.
Other editing options let you align and lock shapes, make them the same size, bring objects to front or send them to back, as well as group and ungroup objects. The applicable shape effects are shadow and glow, while applicable filters are sepia, grayscale, and color inversion.
Image adjustments and screen capturing
In matter of image adjustments, you can flip or rotate the pic, change the canvas size, as well as tweak levels for brightness, contrast, hue and saturation.
iPhotoDraw also integrates a screenshot grabber that can focus on the entire screen, region or fixed region. As far as viewing options are concerned, you can show grids and guide lines, hide the ruler, and even switch to full screen mode.
Change program settings
Many program options can be configured, starting with font name, size and color, line and fill color, along with text alignment, shadow and glow mode. Plus, you can alter the UI background color, edit print settings (page margins and orientation), set keyboard shortcuts for various actions, and so on.
An overall easy-to-use image editor
iPhotoDraw does not put a strain on computer performance, as it runs on low CPU and RAM. It includes help documentation for less experienced users and works smoothly. We have not come across any unpleasant surprises throughout our evaluation, as the app did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.
All in all, iPhotoDraw is a user-friendly image editor, mostly geared toward less experienced users.
