Eraser Portable is a lightweight cross-platform utility built specifically for helping you erase data from your computer permanently. This way, you can make sure no other users can recover the deleted information with dedicated tools.

Since this is the portable version of the program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need erase files and folders in a secured way.

Eraser Portable boasts a clean and intuitive GUI that gives users the possibility to schedule a task by selecting the folders or files to delete, as well as pick the triggering action at the end of it, namely shut down or restart the computer. A task can be run manually, immediately, on restart or repeatedly.

The program comes packed with different cleaning algorithms, such as Gutmann, which is able to securely overwrite the contents of files, the well-known sanitization algorithm, DoD 5220.22-M, pseudo-random number generator algorithm, and others.

Plus, you can add custom algorithms to the list and make the application overwrite directory entries, cluster tips, and Master File Table records.

At the end of the operation, you can view a report about the erased items, which can be exported to a plain text file. Additional features let you integrate the program in the Windows Explorer menu and activate the logging mode.

During our testing we have noticed that Eraser Portable carries out the cleaning operation quickly and without errors throughout the entire process.
