Portable Avira UnErase Personal is an application that can recover files which have been previously deleted from your hard drive.
Since this is a portable product, installation is not necessary. So, you can place Portable Avira UnErase Personal on an external device and run it on any computer. Also, your Windows registry entries will remain intact.
The user interface of the software is represented by a simple, plain window in which you can select a volume, in order to perform a scanning task (this process can take a while, depending on the size of your hard drive).
Once results are displayed, you can check out the name, size, date and time of creation and last access time, estimated status, as well as format of each file.
So, all you can do is select one or multiple files and press the "Unerase" button, after which you can select the output destination.
The program uses a very low amount of system CPU and resources, and manages to quickly retrieve files. Of course, not all of them can be accessed, since some are most likely corrupted (that depends on the age of the file).
In addition, Portable Avira UnErase Personal doesn't include a help file. But since the program has minimalistic features, even novices can easily get around it.
