Portable Exif Tag Remover

Built as a portable counterpart of Exif Tag Remover, this tool is designed to remove EXIF information from images. It particularly comes in handy when looking to reduce the overall size of numerous pictures on the disk, digital cameras, pen drives, and so on.

Since there is no setup kit involved, the program files can be placed in a custom directory on the hard disk or mass storage device, from where you can directly run the executable file.

An important aspect to take into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not receive new entries, leaving the disk clean after removal.

The UI is clean and intuitive, consisting of a standard wizard where you have to follow a few simple stages to eliminate EXIF data in no time.

Image files can be added to the task list using the file browser, folder view or drag-and-drop feature. Batch processing is supported, meaning that you can work with multiple files at once. However, it is not available in the demo version.

As far as the output is concerned, you can set Exif Tag Remover to either overwrite the original pictures, save the new ones in another location, or rename the existing files with additional prefixes or suffixes.

It is possible to delete all EXIF details. Alternatively, you can exclude particular fields from the task, such as XMP, ICC profiles or GPS data. Last but not least, you can alter the timestamps by turning them into fixed or random values.

The tool carries out tasks pretty fast and shows the total amount of cleaned images and saved size at the end of the wizard, in addition to providing an option for opening the target folder. From this point on, you can either exit the tool or restart from scratch.

CPU and RAM consumption is low. We have not encountered any issues in our tests, as the app did not hang, crash or display error notifications. In a nutshell, Exif Tag Remover is a reliable utility for ridding images of EXIF data, featuring a few handy configuration options.
