Portable Synei Startup Manager

Designed as the portable edition of Synei Startup Manager, this lightweight software application comes to your aid in order to remove programs which automatically run at system startup to improve Windows boot time, as well as to add new ones. It sports several intuitive settings that should be easy to figure out, even by those less experienced with such apps.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can save the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to launch Synei Startup Manager. Another possibility is to save it to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.

A noteworthy aspect is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and no extra files are created on the disk, thus leaving no traces behind after its removal.

The GUI is user-friendly, represented by a normal window with a neatly organized structure, where all autostart apps are loaded in the list at startup, along with their name, startup path and status, in addition to registry key and path.

Apps can be either disabled, ignored, removed from the list, delayed to run at a later time, as well as looked up on Google for more information. Those highlighted in red should be disabled (as recommended by the application), while those delayed can be examined in a separate window to undo changes. It is possible to run, terminate, disable or remove the entries for scheduled tasks. The new modifications must be applied with one click.

We have not come across any problems in our tests, since Synei Startup Manager did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It has a good response time to commands and works well, running on low CPU and RAM. This app serves its purpose and can be easily used by anyone.
