Just as the name clearly points out, the application requires no installation in order to function. However, it does offer the possibility to automatically deploy it self on specific, or all connected drives, thus enabling functionality every time you insert it in a different computer, without Portable Liberta AutoStart even running.

There’s no actual main window to the application, and all functions you get to work with are accessed from the corresponding tray icon. If installed on a thumb drive, it also provides quick access to other portable apps it detects on the same drive.

A new tray icon appears for every device you plug in, allowing you to keep an eye on more devices at a time. The set of default options are the same for all drives. You can choose to monitor the drive you want, and even quickly install everywhere. Apart from portable drives, the application can also be installed on all users at the press of a button.

Sadly, the application comes with no advanced options in particular. What it does is let you access content of the connected drive either by interacting with the tray icon to have the root folder brought up, initiate a search with the Windows search tool, or bring up the drive’s properties panel to analyze disk space. You can safely dismount or eject drives so data does not become corrupt.

To sum it up, Portable Liberta AutoStart is a practical little USB monitor, providing quick access to both installed programs on removable drives, as well as search operations, or normal navigation in the default explorer. It can be quickly installed on all drives, with different, custom icons for all connected drives so you don’t get confused.
