Hex Viewer 3.0.4

A simple and easy to use hex / ASCII viewer for any files, regardless of format, featuring customization options for the font and background color
HexViewer is an ultra-simplistic software application that you can use to view the hexedecimal code of any file, regardless of its format. It contains just a few basic options.

Rapid installation and simple interface

The setup procedure takes little time to finish and it is very easy to go through. Considering its looks, it is quite obvious that the application has not been updated for a very long time.

The interface is represented by a single window with minimal structure, resembling Notepad. Files can be opened with the help of the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop function is not supported.

Customize the font and background color

Each page of the hex code can be viewed by clicking a button. It is possible to copy selected code to the Clipboard, hide the splash screen, as well as to change the font and background color. There are no other notable options available.

Conclusion

As expected, HexViewer has minimal impact on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. There were no issues throughout our evaluation, since it did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Although it contains only basic options, HexViewer does its job quite well on later operating systems, although it has not been updated for a while.
