verpatch is a simple and easy-to-use command line editor that was specially designed to help advanced computer users such as software programmers or developers quickly build and maintain console applications, DLL libaries, device drivers and non-GUI components.
Aside from enabling users to update various details of a version info or develop a complete version resource, this software solution is capable of adding binary resources to executable files and remove debug information path quickly and without significant efforts.
After unpacking the archive it came in, users need to launch a CMD prompt and run verpatch from there. Naturally, executing it without appending any arguments will provide users with a list of command line syntax, to help them understand its capabilities better by providing specific examples.
The right way to use it is by inputting the filename (any Windows PE file that can have version resource), the version, which consists of one to four decimal numbers that are separated by dots and one or multiple options.
Options include creating version resources, name values, comments, specifying a product's version, preserving an original filename, including a language ID, outputting the version info in RC format, entering a test mode, removing a path to the PDB file and skip checking for extra data.
