Acme CADSee is an uncomplicated software application which allows you to view files supported by AutoCAD (DWG, DXF and DWF), aside from images (e.g. BMP, PSD, TIFF, PNG, JPG, ICO, WMF).
The app's GUI is based on a standard window and intuitive layout. Thanks to the folder viewer, you can easily locate and access items.
So, you can zoom in and out of drawings and images, switch to full screen mode, view file properties and EXIF information, as well as rotate, mirror and flip pictures.
But you can also configure layer and linetype properties for AutoCAD drawings, alter the point style, enable 3D dynamic viewing mode, change colorization (black and white, greyscale, 256 colors), and print content.
From the 'Options' area you can modify settings for the browser (e.g. icon and direction arrangement, only browse drawing files), drawings (e.g. background color, fill), cache (e.g. enable image cache, change the default image cache folder) and thumbnails (e.g. size, border width, color), as well as make file associations. Options can be restored to their default values.
The application needs a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, contains user's guide and supports keyboard shortcuts. No error dialogs have been displayed throughout our evaluation and Acme CADSee did not freeze or crash. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, Acme CADSee's features can be easily discovered.
