Freeship is designed to offer an alternative to hullformdefinition programs based on NURB surface modeling. Most hull modeling packages use these parametric spline surfaces which can be very tricky to use.
Freeship uses subdivision surfaces instead, which offer many advantages over NURB surfaces, such as: no need for a rectangular control grid divided into rows and columns; more freedom in modeling knuckle lines; surfaces can contain holes; even the most complex shapes can be created with just one surface; the possibility to insert just one single control point.
Here are some key features of "Freeship":
· No need for a rectangular control grid divided into rows and columns.
· More freedom in modeling knuckle lines.
· Surfaces can contain holes.
· Even the most complex shapes can be created with just one surface.
· The possibility to insert just one single control point.
