Geometer

Geometer is a lightweight Windows application designed specifically for helping you convert geometrical data into exact calculations of degrees, areas, perimeters, surface, volume or weight. It comes with support for various formulas for geometrical shapes such as triangles, circles, spheres, cones and cylinders.

You are welcomed by a clean and intuitive GUI that implements a list with all available geometrical shapes. Clicking on one of the shapes brings to your view a set of dedicated parameters that need to be input in order to perform the calculations. You may change the looks of the utility by choosing between several themes.

The program gives you the possibility to work with the following geometrical shapes: triangle, right-angled triangle, circle, circle item, circle segment, cube, cylinder, cone, truncated cone, sphere, brick, sphere segment, as well as sphere streak.

For each of the aforementioned shapes, the configuration parameters are different. Let’s take for example the cube options. The tool is able to calculate the surface, volume and weight of a cube by entering the length of the A side, picking the unit of measurement, and choosing the preferred material from a drop-down list.

You may print each calculation and clear the input parameters with just one click so you can start a new task. Tests have shown Geometer carries out the calculations quickly. It remains friendly on system resources, so the overall performance of the system is not hampered.

Geometer integrates an optional suite of tools that can be used for converting angles in degrees, minutes or seconds or vice versa, performing simple mathematical calculations (e.g. subtraction, addition), and checking out the specific gravity for several preset and user-defined materials.

Geometer comes with a decent feature pack for helping students work with geometric calculations, and can be handled by rookies and professionals alike.
