Encrypt Care

When you want to make sure that nobody can access a certain folder or file on your computer, you can either simply store it on your removable drive and carry it with you at all times, or you can encrypt it.

Encrypt Care is one of the numerous apps you can turn to when you want to encrypt and decrypt files effortlessly, especially if you are not an expert when it comes to computers.

The application features a user-friendly graphic interface that makes it easy for you to choose the files you want to encrypt (drag and drop is supported). Next, you need to enter the password you want to use, select the destination folder and start the encryption.

When it comes to text, the procedure is basically the same: type or paste the text, select the password and encrypt the message.

On the downside, you do not have the possibility to select a master password to be automatically used for all encryptions. This means that you need to input the passcode manually whenever you want to encrypt files or texts.

Another handy function of Encrypt Care is generating hash values for either files or texts. You only need to specify the type of checksum you are interested in (MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 or SHA-512), and then leave it to the app to calculate it.

You can not only copy them to the clipboard, but you can also compare them with a third-party value so as to determine whether the files have been tampered with.

If you want to increase the security of your files, you can switch to any of the supported algorithms while keeping in mind that you will need to choose the correct one for decryption. More precisely, Encrypt Care supports AES, Blowfish, CAST, DES, IDEA, RC2, RC4 and TEA, and you can go for the algorithm you prefer.

The application can help you protect the contents of your files and encrypt your text messages so that only those who know the correct password can access them.
