Protect Me! is a lightweight Windows software solution developed to help you protect files on your computer by grouping them in a single executable container featuring password protection.
In just a few words, the application lets you select some of the files on your computer and create a password-protected executable file that blocks unauthorized access.
It’s almost impossible to get lost in the program’s GUI, not only because it sports just a limited number of options, but also thanks to the fact that the clean layout makes everything very intuitive for both rookies and more advanced users.
Drag and drop support is also available to quickly select the files you want to place in the secured container, with all options presented right in the main window.
There are just a few settings to play with too, which means that you can not only select the password to protect the executable file, but also pick a custom icon or simply use the default one.
Creating a so-called “container” takes just a few seconds and the computer isn’t stressed up at all during the process. The overall size of this file is slightly bigger than the encrypted files, especially because of the password protection system.
Once you open a secure container and input the right password, Protect Me! gives you the option to run a selected file, save it on the local disk or simply extract everything, just like you’d normally do with a standard archive.
Protect Me! serves its purpose regardless of the Windows version and the encrypted files can be easily copied on a removable drive and transferred to another computer.
All in all, Protect Me! is a very effective mix of easy to use features and a reliable password-protection engine, providing a quick solution to users who want to encrypt their files with minimum effort.
