Simply put, ScriptLogic Cloak provides increased security on NTFS volumes by adding "Out of sight – out of mind" filtering to the Windows file system. Once ScriptLogic Cloak is installed on your Windows Servers, users will only see the files and/or folders that they have permission to access.

Since users won't see folders and/or files that they can't access, their directory trees are measurably less cluttered. They'll receive less 'Access Denied' messages because they can't click on folders that are hidden from their view (whether their attempt was intentional or accidental).

If you have enabled File System Auditing, ScriptLogic Cloak will also help by virtually eliminating any 'false positives' in your security event logs. Now when you review event logs and see 'Object Access - Failure' entries, you can actually pay attention since the 'I clicked on that folder by accident' excuses will no longer be accepted.
