i-Lock is a software application that will allow you to protect and encrypt the files on your USB portable drive.

Copy i-Lock to your USB/Thumb drive. Once copied to your Thumb drive double click the i-Lock icon to launch the application.

You will be presented with a settings box. To be able to encrypt files on your thumb drive and protect your files you must set these settings. By using these settings you will always be ask for a User Name and Password to start i-Lock.

You will still be able to open the drive normally to access the files that are not encrypted but to access any of the files on your thumb drive you must use i-Lock and know the User Name and Password to launch the program.

The encrypted files will end in the .ile extension and can be opened through the right click menu or by double clicking on the encrypted file. By doing so i-Lock will launch and ask you for your User Name and Password Information.

Once given it will decrypt the file and open it in it's associated program. When you set up your settings use a code for encryption that you will remember.

If your settings file is deleted from your thumb drive you will not be able to open you encrypted files unless you can re-enter the same encryption code when you resave your settings.
