Fast installation and easy to use
The application requires you to undergo a quick and uneventful setup process before you can actually start splitting the Internet into good and bad. Right from the start you need to provide an administrator password that is the main key to switching back to full control over pages you visit.
Knowing what to block by default
A simple, modern interface is home to all available features, which are not really plentiful. By default, the application has its restrictions levels set almost to maximum, with a large database of keywords and websites blocked. Unfortunately, you cannot view these lists but you are able to add your own restrictions.
Fully customizable restriction settings
All this is handled from the “Setup” menu. Security levels can be adjusted with the help of sliders, chat applications can be completely restricted, and even applications that you consider have inappropriate content.
What's more, advanced timing options let you set permissions for each day of the week, with the possibility to set the computer to automatically shut down when time is up.
Keeps settings safe with a password
Once everything is set up, you can easily switch to “Child mode” for full protection. In other words, all restrictions take effect and the Internet only displays its content appropriate for all ages. While restrictions are active, the application stays hidden in the system tray and is only accessible if the administrator password is provided.
View attempts to bypass restrictions
Furthermore, when in “Parent mode”, you can view a log of all sites that were blocked while restrictions were active, as well as screenshots taken at the moment the attempt was made. These can be saved to file and can serve as solid proof.
To end with
All in all, Anti-Porn is an application you might want to keep around and carefully have configured, especially if you share the same home with a curious youngster. It's easy enough to use and an integrated help manual gets you up and running in no time, while being capable of blocking anything you tell it besides everything it already knows.
