SPS is a user friendly application that allows you to safely store login information in databases. SPS is not 'bloatware' and has a carefully targeted feature set optimized for its purpose.
The encryption used to protect your data file is the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) using a strong 256 bit key. SPS writes garbage over any decrypted information left in your computer's memory and the Windows clipboard before it closes.
The number of key entries that can be entered is restricted to hinder attempts at automated key discovery. The data display even has options to restrict what can be seen by someone looking over the user’s shoulder!
SPS uses a unique key enhancement technology and comes with an automatic password generator. The saved databases are error checked using MD5 checksums for individual records as well as the database as a whole. SPS has a very small screen footprint with a radically simplified but effective database display and operation.
The design does not rely on pre-determined field functions and, with some customization possible, it has tremendous flexibility while remaining incredibly straightforward and quick to use. For speed and simplicity, non-essential functions are put in the menus while basic functionality can also be obtained from right-click context menus and the optional main window buttons.
There are several options to fine tune how you want SPS to function. For serious reliability and the fastest problem resolutions, SPS utilizes several technologies to protect your data and ensure rapid problem diagnosis. When saving databases normally, SPS creates backups of your previous database automatically.
SPS is offered with a 'per-user' licence. Individual users can, personally, use SPS on as many computers as they wish. The installer can be used or, optionally, files can be simply copied from computer to computer. The ability to copy files is useful where user’s rights to run an MSI installer may be restricted.
Here are some key features of "SPS":
Ease of use:
· Simple install and uninstall. You can use the supplied single file installer or manually copy files thereafter.
· SPS is not weighed down with the extra features a large database needs.
· Can't think of a good password? Let SPS do that work for you..automatically.
· The most common tasks are designed to be carried out as quickly and simply as possible.
· Window layouts are straightforward and compact.
Security:
· AES 256bit key encrypted data files are saved on disc. Not convinced? See the AES page for more information.
· Data left in the computer's memory is over-written with garbage and then wiped when finished with.
· The Windows clipboard is over-written with garbage and then wiped when SPS is closed.
· There are restrictions on the number of database encryption keys that can be tried within SPS.
· The database and its records are protected by MD5 error detection - you will know if any of your data is corrupt or has been tampered with!
· If your favorite database key is not strong enough, let SPS automatically enhance it.
· There are other security features used in SPS but their effect would be reduced if they were published here!
Flexibility:
· SPS has a number of saved user options including main window sizes. These are stored in the user part of the Windows registry and are remembered the next time the program starts. Users with different Windows networking logons on the same PC can have different SPS preferences.
· Databases can be imported and exported via CSV (spreadsheet) files or a custom script file (ini file format) which can be read and edited using a text editor or word processor.
· SPS displays a simple database structure designed for this one task. The creation script can be edited allowing for some database customization. Some change is possible with existing SPS databases too.
Data protection:
· SPS automatically creates a backup file when over-writing a database that already exists on disc.
· Two levels of undo are possible via temporary backup files stored before certain operations.
Troubleshooting:
· A unique hierarchical fault reporting and logging system can be used for troubleshooting purposes.
Limitations:
· 30 days trial

New features and improvements:
· Auto-Fill. Added the capability to Auto-Fill in fields in opened other applications. Altered the default database template to take advantage of this. A side effect of this feature is to allow opening of other applications without expanding the tree view to show the Other Fields in level/column 3 of the tree view.
· Find text in the tree view - operates via the magnifying glass button, the Return/Enter key or F3.
· Added the Database Structure Editor to allow easy visual modification of new and existing database structures and blank templates.
· Reduced the SPS initialization to improve startup speed.
· Added ability to choose whether the New SPS DB file (blank database template) should be the csv or ini version. The ini version is deprecated but is still supported and available.
Improvements for ease of use:
· Increased adherence to Windows standards, for example - enabling the enter key activates the default control function. This means that the ent...
