When users first abylon KEYSAFE, the application immediately launches its main function which is securing your system via a security key. Users do not have any chance to familiarize themselves with the interface, what anything means, the various odd encryption icons that are included.

The rushed approach to using what is potentially an extremely powerful application is haphazard at best and there is very little help documentation available at the start of the program. The settings and options can be accessed only after users have set a password.

Once users are actually able to access the program, there is a useful range of features and options that provide practical customization for how abylon KEYSAFE operates. There are still aspects that are not explained until they are too late however, but the application redeems itself with multiple ways to secure a system.

Users can either select a password, with a password strength meter included, making it apparent when an appropriately strong password is created. Users can also use a CD, a USB stick, a chip card or a certificate as the security key for their system. Using physical objects that only the user can access can essentially make a system completely secure.

There is no doubt that abylon KEYSAFE features some extremely powerful tools, and can arguably make a system completely secure in certain respects, it doesn’t redeem its other areas. The design is extremely unintuitive and lacks proper help documentation, what help there that is available is sparse and lacking in detail. Ultimately, abylon KEYSAFE will need to change how it works and how it presents itself to users, for its features to be properly appreciated.
