Mil Shield

Many of today's software save your private information in order to ease the daily computer usage. While this might be convenient for the user, it also poses a risk of identity theft. To safeguard your privacy, you should use a specialized application that removes all identifiable traces from your computer, like Mil Shield.

The utility features a tabbed interface, with similar or related options grouped together.  You can easily access the Browsers tab and see at a glance which files you can remove for each of the available programs. In the same manner, you can handle files generated by the operating system or by various other applications, such as media players, image utilities, download managers, productivity tools and archivers.

Moreover, Mil Shield allows you to define custom applications, files and registry entries that will be monitored and cleaned. These definitions support wildcards and expressions; a feature many power-users find very useful.

If you do not know exactly which files pose a risk to your privacy, you can use the default settings. Sadly, there is no internal glossary or index defining the function of each option, so, in this regard, the utility is less approachable for less experienced users.

The program features a Stealth button, allowing for an immediate and nearly instantaneous cleanse of the system. Similarly, you can define a global hotkey (also known as panic key or emergency key), which, upon activation, erases multimedia players cache, clears image viewer history, closes standard Windows games and erases instant messaging chat logs.

Mil Shield allows you to remove old and obsolete files that, in time, might slow down your machine's performance. It can delete browser history and cache and other private files left behind by various other programs.
