An unobtrusive tool that checks the webpages that you visit for phishing threats or other potential malware, while running on low system resources

editor's review

Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor is a lightweight software application whose sole purpose is to help users navigate on the Internet in a secured environment by offering protection against phishing websites.

Phishing is an Internet threat that is able to steal usernames, passwords, and credit card details by disguising itself as a legit website. The tool offers support for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari monitoring options.

Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor features a built-in list with reported phishing and malicious websites, and automatically scans and checks each webpage you visit. The list is provided by the Panda Security service and is refreshed automatically.

The program runs quietly in the system tray until called upon when it reveals only a few dedicated parameters to tinker with.

You are given the possibility to enable or disable the anti-phishing mode with just a few clicks.

Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to work with this tool, it proves to be an excellent software for all less experienced users who need a simple yet efficient app for staying away from Internet threats.

During our testing we have noticed that Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor carries out a task quickly, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it remains light on system resources, so it doesn’t hamper the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.

To sum things up, Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor seems to be the right choice in case you are looking for a simple-to-use tool that alerts you when you are about to access potentially malicious websites.
