CheckSum Calculator

CheckSum Calculator is an application with a title that explains its functionality - it can calculate the checksum of a file. Thus, you can compare checksums and find out if the data was altered in any way.

The user interface of the program is based on a standard window in which you can input a file by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" method and batch processing are not supported).

You can select which checksum algorithm you want the tool to check for (MD5, CRC32, SHA-1) and press the "Start" button.

During the scanning task, you can view a progress bar. After it is finished, you can check out the processed size, elapsed time and average rate in the status bar.

You can cut, copy, paste and delete text, as well as use the "undo" function, select the reading order and insert Unicode control characters.

The simple application takes up a very low amount of system memory and CPU, and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. A scan job takes a little while to finish, depending on the size of your file.

There is no help file available but that's because CheckSum Calculator is extremely easy to work with, even by first-time users.

Although CheckSum Calculator provides you with few options, it is a software that quickly gets the job done without causing any problems. We strongly recommend it to all users.
