M Secure Lock

M Secure Lock is an advanced application that enables you to lock and hide files, folders and drives using password protection. This way, you can prevent other people with access to your computer from viewing sensitive information.

After a quick setup operation that shouldn't impose any issues, you're asked to set your password, which will be requested every time you want to access the tool to lock and unlock items.

As far as the interface is concerned, M Secure Lock adopts a clean window with a neatly organized structure, where you can add files and folders to the task list, in order to lock and unlock them with just a couple of clicks. Hiding them from Windows Explorer is optional.

It's also possible to lock drives, whether we're talking about local, network or removable drives. Command Prompt is locked by default, but it can be unlocked. You can also lock the Windows registry to block access to inexperienced users and prevent possible OS stability problems.

You can perform searches, integrate the utility into the file explorer context menu, ask it to autorun every time you boot the computer, and to show tips on startup. The password can be changed anytime, and the app can get minimized to the systray to become non-intrusive and let you carry on with your normal PC activity.

Remember to unlock any files, folders or drives before the trial expires or before uninstalling the application.

We haven't come across any difficulties in our tests, since it didn't hang, crash or show error messages. CPU and RAM consumption was minimal, so it didn't hamper system performance.

Too bad that it hasn't been updated for a long time. Otherwise, M Secure Lock comes packed with powerful and easy-to-use options for locking and hiding files, folders and drives.
