MSD Strongbox is a secure and handy software that allows you to store disk files in the program database and encrypt them with a password. To extract the files from the database it is necessary to know the password with which the files where encrypted.
If you have files in your computer that you would like to keep private, with nobody being able to read or edit them, MSD Strongbox is the solution.
Using this application, you can store several kinds of files and documents, presentations, contracts, videos, images etc.
MSD Strongbox is ideal for transporting your private documents using Pen Drives and other types of removable media.
MSD Strongbox displays the information in data grids. The following advanced features are available:
· Sort the information by any column or combination of columns, in ascending or descending order.
· Group the information by any column or combination of columns, providing a tree like view of the data.
· Hide or show the columns at will, and also allow to change their position and width.
· Filter the information by any column or combination of columns, with an advanced filter manager.
· Change many features to adapt the grid to the user preferences. For instance, the information can be shown in multiline rows.
· Store an unlimited number of grid configurations, that can be restored at will. The stored configurations contain the grid visual features, the columns, the sorting, the grouping and the filtering of the grid when it was saved.
· The information is shown in two different views: table and cards.
· The reports show exactly the same information of the data grid. For this reason, the number of different reports that can be obtained with this program is almost unlimited.

Here are some key features of "MSD Strongbox":
· Data confidentiality and security: the information is protected by password while the program is running, when the information is saved to disk after the program is closed and when the information is backed up. The technology used to protect the information is of maximum safety. If you do not know the password used to encrypt the files, there is no way to recover them.
· Safe file deletion: the registered version of the program can delete the disk files after storing them in the database with a safe procedure, which avoids that the files can be recovered by file recovery programs. In the trial version the files are deleted by the normal procedure.
· Reliability: this program uses various techniques to ensure the integrity of the data stored in its database. For example, if the user decides to delete a disk file after storing it in the database, the program verifies that it is capable of extracting the file completely and that the file is identical to the original file before deleting it from disc. In addition, if files are stored in the database during a session, the program asks the user to make a backup before closing.
· Multiple encryption passwords: by default, the program encrypts the files stored in the database with the access password. Users may chose to use a different password to encrypt each file stored in the database. Important: if you choose to store files with different passwords, make sure you have a system that allows you to remember the password used for each file.
· File compression: by default, the program compresses the files before encryption to occupy less space in the database.
· Installable on a Pen Drive or any removable disk, which allows to transport private files anywhere with complete confidentiality and security.
· Data Export: you can export the information of the program in text, HTML, XML and excel formats. The files stored in the records are not exported.
· Records can be filtered by any field combination.
· Appearance and functionality of the program can be configured by the user.
· Easy to use, with hints and popup menus in all program areas.
· Powerful search and find tools. This feature is supported by a powerful relational database manager.
· Unlimited reports, because the program prints the contents of the data grids, which can be configured at will on the number of columns of data, its position, its management, grouping and filtering.
· Word processor: use this powerful tool for editing text documents enriched with formatted text, tables, images and more.
· Spreadsheet: use this powerful tool for editing spreadsheets compatible with Microsoft Excel. The records of the main database program may contain a spreadsheet.
· Image viewer: use this tool to view or print the images stored in the records of the program.
· Tools backing and restoring the data.
· Maintenance routines to assist in the packing of the databases and to correct potential integrity problems.
Limitations:
· The program databases accept a limited number of records. This number depends on the kind of database, but is large enough to allow a comfortable evaluation of the program.
· The disk files are deleted in a safe way if the program is registered. In the evaluation version the files are deleted the standard way.
· From time to time, a dialog with information about the program and how to register it will show up.
