AnyBackup is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to back up pools of volumes and keep them synchronized.
The tool is able to keep two groups of files in sync, namely ‘content’ and ‘backup,’ where content stands for the files that you want to keep copies of and backup data represents the files you want to keep in sync with the content.
You are welcomed by a clean feature lineup that reveals information about the drives (name, free and total size, CHKDSK), directory with the storage data, as well as files included in the backup, along with details about the name, size and modified time.
Automatic data indexing options
AnyBackup offers support for a smart feature that allows you to automatically index a new drive added to the list. What’s more, the application lets you perform searches throughout your drives’ data even if they are not connected.
The search mode can be customized by adding filters (e.g. ‘contains,’ ‘ends with’), looking for files or directories (or both options), and picking the driver type (backup, content or all of them).
You may remove the selected drives from a backup, refresh files (re-read and index data), back up new files and remove old items (you may also preview which files are old and new).
Guest view mode
AnyBackup lets you export drives (backup and/or content) to a file which can be sent to other users. The guest mode is designed to allow other users to visualize your backup via AnyBackup’s interface.
An overall efficient app
All in all, AnyBackup comprises a smart suite of features for helping you prevent data loss when you work with large projects, and can be mastered by rookies and professionals alike. Although there’s no support for an automatic sync mode, the utility still impresses with its ease of use and handy backup solutions.
