DataRecovery

DataRecovery is a tool designed to help you locate and recover files that you have deleted or lost.

The software does not require installation, so that makes DataRecovery portable.

It means that you can place it on a removable device and directly run the executable file on any computer.

More importantly, there will be no changes made to your Windows registry keys.

The interface of DataRecovery is very plain and simple to use. You can initiate a scanning task after selecting a drive.

If you are not satisfied with the results after the quick scan, then you can allow DataRecovery to perform a complete one.

In the list you can view the path, type, size, as well as attribute and date of modification of each file. You can use a search function (input all or just part of the file name), rename files and wipe them (i.e. permanently delete files beyond recovery).

The program uses a massive amount of system resources and quickly finishes a scan job (except when it performs a complete scan; this process can take very long time to finish).

DataRecovery didn't cause us any difficulties during our tests. But it doesn't provide you with any kind of advanced settings. For example, you cannot look for a particular file format or file with a certain date of creation.

DataRecovery is a pretty good tool for retrieving lost or deleted files and we mainly recommend it to first-time users.
