Digital Media Recovery 1.0.1
Choose drives to scan and file types
Running the application brings up the main window with the first step towards recovering media files. Fixed and removable storage drives are displayed in a list, with an introduction text that also gives you a little glimpse of what the application is capable of.
Selecting a drive displays name, model, type and size, as well as a few more details. The next step requires you to select the file formats you need to recover, with a provided button that automatically selects all of them.
Following is the actual scan process, which can take from several seconds to a few hours, depending on the condition of the selected drive.
Select files you want to recover
Last but not least, an explorer lets you browse through folders from a side panel, with content displayed in a list. Additional info displays the total number of files that are found as well as size in Kb. When you are happy with the selection, hitting the “Save” button brings up a small window requiring you to specify the destination path, or choose to burn recovered media files to a CD.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Digital Media Recovery does its job well, living up to expectations. The scan process tends to be a little time-consuming if the storage drive is large or too damaged, but result is worth the wait.
