Flash & USB Recovery is a software tool which was built specifically to aid people in scanning their external data devices for lost or deleted documents and images and recover them, with a minimal amount of time.

The installation process does not last very long and does not come with any unpleasant surprises, while the interface you are met with presents a design which can only be described as well-organized and simple. It encloses a small menu bar, a list of detected drives and a pane in which to display scan results.

It becomes quite clear that all user categories can work with it, including those with little or no previous experience with computers.

This program enables you to easily recover lost or deleted files from removable storage units, as well as from any partition on your hard drive. There are two types of scans you can take advantage of, namely a standard one and a more powerful one, called “Deep JPEG Image Scan.”

All results are going to be displayed in the main window as a list, along with name, write time, attributes and file size, while it is also possible to stop the search at any point, as well as save logs to the hard drive, for further analysis. No other notable options are incorporated.

CPU and memory usage is quite low most of the times and therefore, the computer’s performance is not going to be hampered. The interface is quite friendly to all users, the response time is quite good and our tests did not reveal any errors, hangs or bugs. Nevertheless, it is important to keep in mind that this tool is not very powerful, as it failed to recover our deleted pictures even with the deep scan.

Taking all of this into consideration, we can say Flash & USB Recovery proves to be a pretty decent piece of software.
