Image is a DOS based backup and restore utility that creates or restores a snapshot of an entire partition or volume.
Image for DOS can backup partitions and restore drives.
If something should ever happen to that partition or volume, you'll be able to simply restore the snapshot image.
The data can be backed up to or restored from just about any drive letter, including network drives, or the program can directly access FAT, FAT32, NTFS partitions as well as most USB2, IEEE1394, ATAPI or ASPI accessible CD-R/RW or DVD RW/ R/-R/-RW drives.
When saving to CDs or DVDs, they can be made bootable which provides you with a convenient recovery CD/DVD.
System requirements
- IA32, Real Mode DOS (MSDOS/PCDOS/WinDOS)
- 16MB RAM.
Limitations in the unregistered version

What's new in Image for DOS 2.88:
- Added /csigut (ChangeSigUseTarget) to allow /csig option to keep the target drive signature if unique.
- Allow renaming of a partition on a single partition restore.
- Fixed a spurious error message about an invalid hash file which could occur when being used for a changes only backup.
- Changed the /phc default to include clearing of the hibernation file.
