R-Studio Agent

R-Studio Agent is an interesting and useful piece of software that is designed to team up with R-Studio in order to provide you with all the necessary tools for remotely recovering lost data on any computer that is connected to a network.

Assuming that R-Studio is already installed on your computer, you should proceed with installing R-Studio Agent on the computer you wish to recover data from. This said, R-Studio Agent basically provides a stable deployment environment for R-Studio on the computer at hand and consequently this app is destined to run in the background for most of the time.

Upon first launching the application on the problematic computer, you are required to configure R-Studio Agent by setting up a password and by typing the computer's IP address or Subnet mask. Once this is taken care of, you are greeted by a secondary window where you need to enter the server's IP, port and designated password.

The application comes with a stripped-down and non-interactive window, with a single button that does not do more than actually shutting the app down. You should also know that by right-clicking anywhere on the utility's interface, you can access a small set of features from the contextual menu.

You can reload the configuration window from first starting the app, connect to a new source computer, hide the app in the system tray or quit altogether. Besides this, you also get a log panel that displays basic information about your system's hardware specifications and the network's availability.

On the whole, it is really difficult to get excited about an application such as R-Studio Agent. Looking at it separately does not do it much justice. In this powerful team of two software solutions for data recovery, R-Studio Agent brings to the table an important asset such as mobility by actually extending R-Studio's capabilities throughout a network.
