Video Memory stress Test 1.7.116
Targeting both beginners and pros
Although we're more or less used to very complex applications every time we hear about benchmarking, Video Memory stress Test has been designed to be user friendly, so it caters to the needs of both beginners and experienced users.
Compact and simple interface to work with
There's just a single window that hosts all the information and the buttons, so you will see a special panel with information, including total and used memory, device name and video mode, as well as a bunch of real-time statistics that will be displayed while performing benchmarks.
Three test types and sets
There are three test types (DirectX, CUDA and OpenGL), three test sets (full, express 15% and full) plus a number of options such as to ignore colors bit mask and use onscreen buffer.
You can also choose the surfaces size, whether to beep if any errors are found, to perform a continuous test or not and to log errors.
Taking its time for thorough analysis
It's pretty much obvious that your computer will be seriously stressed up after pressing the 'Start' button, and keep in mind that it's mandatory to avoid doing anything else on the machine while the tests are under way.
A full test takes around 30 minutes, with 254 stages to be completed, so make sure you have some spare time before starting a new test.
Lets anyone quickly accommodate
The thing we liked the most was definitely the way the app interacts with the user, as it relies on a plain-looking interface with intuitive buttons and just a few configuration options, a very useful thing especially for beginners.
All in all, Video Memory stress Test is a must try, especially because it's being delivered as a very light package. A few improvements here and there and we'll definitely get a top product. However, it manages to deliver desired result in order to keep you up to date with your graphics card's health status.
