While bootable CDs and DVDs are fairly common, sometimes you want to be able to simply bring a flash drive with you, rather than a delicate disc that could break in your bag. MakeItBoot is a nice tool that was designed to create bootable USB flash drives.
The app has a clean interface and a nice layout, making it easy to figure out by all users.
The entire process isn’t too difficult to figure out since it only requires that you select the USB drive and provide a label. Thus, if there was no USB plugged in when the app was fired up, you must simply press the refresh button on the interface and wait for a few seconds.
Then, you may select the USB you want to work with. The app lets you view the name of the device, drive letter and the total size. A drive label may be assigned as well, which can be as long as 32 characters.
If there is any data on the drive, the program deletes it before letting you copy the files you want to boot, such as an operating system or a game image.
All in all, MakeItBoot is a nice program that can be useful to have around, especially if you often deal with bootable software. Less experienced individuals shouldn’t have any troubles while installing and customizing the app, thanks to the intuitive layout and its overall simplicity.
